Evaluation of Fungicides, Botanicals and Biocontrol Agents for Management of Southern Leaf Blight of Maize (Bipolaris maydis)with Effective Benefit Cost Ratio

Southern leaf blight of maize (Bipolaris maydis) is one the major disease in many countries including India. An experiment was conducted for two consecutive years during rabi 2019 and 2020 to develop an integrated management southern using fungicides, botanicals bioagents under natural field conditions. Propiconazole found be best showed 100% mycelial growth inhibition vitro at 0.1%. Among botanicals, citronella 99.70% Trichoderma harzianum with 84.26% among biocontrol agents. The results trials highest yield performance (2601.71 kg ha-1) percent reduction severity over control 61.70 % treatment comprising seed treatment+spraying propiconazole 25% EC @ 1% which followed by comprised spraying 0.1% (2445.33 (2349.26 ha-1). Highest BC ratio obtained (4.05) 4 g (3.71) (3.69). that significantly superior other treatments.
